Mixed Methods

As I contemplated the theme of my first solo exhibition back in 2016, I had the good fortune to visit a fellow printmaker who showed me her recent work. She had created several wood blocks but printed numerous prints by overlapping her blocks in a wide variety of ways. This immediately sparked an idea. My previous practice had employed only one method per print – either lithography, silkscreen or etching. The thought of combining theses methods, however, each playing off the other with layering and overlapping ignited my imagination with the endless possibilities. This became my concentration for my exhibition and has become my goal – to find that perfect synergy with theses methods.
