On occasion, I venture off – although not too far off – the printmaking path. I have had the opportunity to take a few encaustic workshops and have experienced a variety of methods. The pieces below incorporate the use of wax, torn paper and segments of my prints. Obviously a great way to use old prints but I find this collage method leads to some abstraction of the imagery while still allowing the formal elements of the prints to shine through – a most enjoyable process!
