New Work

A New Direction……pushing the boundaries

A recent trip to Porto, Portugal, has opened a new direction in my printmaking practice and encouraged me to think about the print in an entirely different way. Inspired by the city’s distinctive tiled facades and the beauty of weathered, fragmented surfaces, I have begun combining both new and existing prints with other materials to create works that echo the visual and tactile qualities of mosaic tile.

This experimentation has evolved into a new series of work and, more importantly, has sparked a wealth of ideas for where my printmaking might go next. I am increasingly interested in moving beyond the traditional boundaries of the flat print—exploring greater texture, scale, layering, and dimensionality. These new works are an ongoing exploration of how printed fragments can be reassembled, transformed, and given a new life as something more than a two-dimensional image..
